Perfect Location in NYC
Moxy Chelsea is a one of a kind hotel. I enjoyed it as it was stylish and clean and the vibe was modern but not too loud. The staff were nice and courteous.

Room Issues
Hello,
We stayed in Room 1210 on Saturday 9/21 for a wedding nearby. We had numerous issues with our room:
-The Air Conditioning did not work and it was extremely warm in the room. We informed the front desk of this on our way to the wedding and an engineer was in the room as we received a note saying such. However we ended up waking up in the middle of the morning in a sweat as the AC was not fully cooling the room.
-The shower flooded the toilet area, I was taking a shower and my wife went into the toilet area and realized the floor in there was wet from water getting through from the shower side.
-The shower from upstairs or next door was heard in our room early in the morning and it made going back to sleep extremely difficult. I have video of this and would be happy to send it along.
Lastly, the room was the size of a matchbox, I understand this is Midtown Manhattan and space is at a premium but we could barely get dressed at the same time and we both had to compete for the one full length mirror that is in the room.

Beautiful Photos but poorly maintained
When I first saw the Moxy Chelsea listed, I loved everything about it, the floral theme, unpretentious decor choices, central location. The reality of my stay was a bit different. While the public spaces are beautiful and interesting, there were quite a few shortcomings:
1. The building is just generally not in great shape. The elevators, walls, etc are all a little banged up.
2. There was some sort of alarm or system that kept beeping and going off every 15 minutes in our room.
3. The "city view" rooms don't actually have a view on lower levels, don't expect to see much.
4. The bedding wasn't comfortable, and while it looked kind of cool, the bathroom fixture and design choices just weren't comfortable either.
5. Rooms were stuffy and poorly ventilated
6. Neighborhood is pretty standard I guess, just gross and smells like trash all the way around the block.
7. The gym is in a dark dingy basement.
It's NYC, but still this place is overpriced.

ótima decoração, atendimento razoável.
Mesmo com ótima decoração nos quartos e recepção do hotel, vários contatos tive com as pessoas da recepção me deixaram desconfortável pela antipatia das profissionais.

Great Trendy Hotel
Hotel was very unique and trendy. Restaurant/bar options on property are excellent. Great location close to subways and easy walk to anything you would need.

Marriotts are standard, they are fine and dependable. Moxy was trying to do something "cool" and it's a giant fail and ruined my weekend.

Amazing stay!
The room was great - very happy to have stayed on the 30th floor. It was always clean, looked after.
The Reception staff was amazing - very helpful, polite, very friendly.
Flowers from Putnam & Putnam were fantastic - lasted the entire week while we were staying in the hotel.
Both The Fleur Room and Feroce Bocce bar were also great - happy to visit them both.
Location of the hotel is fantastic - it's amazing to leave the hotel into the lovely flower district every morning.
Note, that to get to The Fleur Room make sure to have your photo ID by hand. Although it is within the hotel. but it is separate and guests will be asked for ID (we weren't asked for it in Feroce Bocce which is also within the hotel).
Overall it was a fantastic stay, I am thankful and happy with overall service, especially with how helpful Reception was and how friendly all of the staff we met or had to deal with. I will absolutely recommend Moxy Chelsea to anyone who will ask for recommendations and when I'm back to NY next time - I will definitely book Moxy. Thank you for making my birthday trip better!
