Elegant area
The Wardman Park location is a hidden gem. If you stay there they treat you well and the hotel is grand. Almost makes you feel like Royalty.

Giving back on Thanksgiving
We were in DC to visit with family over the Thanksgiving break, and our stay at the Wardman Park was great. The front desk was very helpful and it's a well run and well maintained hotel. However, the moment that made the biggest impression on me was seeing the hotel staff provide a catering cart of food to a crew of fire men to take back to the fire house for a Thanksgiving meal. Kudos for giving back to the community.

Location of room was terrible
I recently stayed at the hotel Nov. 21-26, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in my life. We had the misfortune of staying in room 1003, which is directly across the hall from the Concierge Club. We waited for over two hours past the guaranteed check in time for the room to be ready, which is only the beginning.
The hallway right outside the room is used as a staging area for dishes and servers in the Club. It was like sleeping in a restaurant kitchen. The noise lasted until 11:15 pm, and started up again at 5:45 am. I asked twice to be moved to a different room, only to be told none were available until halfway through our stay and someone would contact me. They never did. The Club was closed the next two nights, so it wasn’t an issue, and I didn’t push being moved. The last night of our stay, workers began moving furniture out of the Club and working on the floor. I called the front desk twice and never got an answer. I ended up going across the hall myself at 1:45 am and asking them to stop. It was a bit quieter after that. We checked out early the next morning, and I asked to speak to a manager, but there wasn’t one on duty. The desk person did comp us for the previous night, and mentioned that she could see notes that I had asked to be moved and that she wasn’t sure why no one contacted me. She said someone would be in touch, likely by email. I realize it was a holiday week, but I didn't anything from anyone. Sadly, I was not at all surprised by this.
I have never felt less valued as a customer than I did at this hotel. Just to be clear, the issue was not noise from other guests. If that hallway is to be used as a staging area for the Club, you should not use rooms in that hallway for guests. I would say that two of the five nights we stayed were acceptable.
After I initiated contact, I did hear from someone at the hotel, offering an apology and a bare-minimum resolution.

Unorganized Mess
For being a Convention Center they were extremely unprepared and understaffed. Rooms were not ready to check in until after 9 pm! Check in took over 2 hours for many. To say it was an unorganized mess would be a kind understatment.
